Description

Please join us for “Introduction to Hand Applique”.  In this two part class, we will start by spending some time discussing fabric choices, various threads and tools which will help us make applique easier.  Next, we will explore several different ways to prepare our shapes for hand applique.  We will see how using cardstock, template plastic, freezer paper or interfacing can aid us in turning perfect edges. We will tackle the six basic shapes, including bias strips, curves, and circles.  We will learn how to position the shapes in their correct location and how to layer the pieces from back to front.  And we will learn how to turn the edges of the applique and perfect the hand applique stitch.

Supply kit and pattern included 

Instruction Time: 4 hours with 0.5 hour break. There will be a 30 minute break for lunch/snack so be sure to pack a lunch!

Cost: $150 total for two classes

Minimum Enrollment: 4 students
