The Carnaby Collection fabrics designed by Liberty Fabrics for Riley Blake Designs is inspired by historic epicenter of popular culture that is Carnaby Street located just around of the corner from the iconic liberty flagship store. The Carnaby Collection draws inspiration from the music art and fashion of the 1960's and 70's featuring original designs of this period from the liberty archive. Influenced by a colorful patchwork that was painted on the Carnaby streets pavement during the 1970's. Prints reflect the free-spirited optimistic mood of that era traditionally screen printed onto soft lasenby cotton the collection is available in 3 distinct color stories Retro Indigo, Daydream and Bohemian Brights.
An eclectic mix of botanical and geometric elements give Soho Stripe a distinct bohemian feel. Originally designed for liberty in 1964 its simplified retro daisies are arranged in a striped formation working perfectly either horizontal or vertical offering an extra dimension to the quilting process. Paradise Petals truly captures the free spirit represented through art and design through the 1960's and 70's decades. A scattering of dazzling flower power florals spin and twirl morphing into an all-over dense pattern of phantasmagorical fun. Inspired by a tiny fabric swatch discovered in the liberty archive dating from the 1960’s Bohemian Bloom was repainted in bold and simplified flower forms which seems as though the have been collaged together to create a subtle bohemian look reminiscent of pop art style patterns. Sunny Afternoons magical landscape bursts with natural wonders and scenic vistas patterned clouds, suns, rainbows, stars, trees, and flowers come together to create a psychedelic and colorful countryside.
