Ruby Star Society is a new division of Moda Fabrics. It started with five strong women - Melody Miller, Rashida Coleman-Hale, Sarah Watts, Alexia Marcelle Abegg, and Kim Kight - working collaboratively to design delightful, beautiful modern fabrics. It is a sisterhood rooted in deep connection, supportive collaboration, and more than anything, the notion that a good idea is worth fighting for. The business is founded on fabric, but it seeks to uphold the core belief that *anyone can create something.*
No. The 100% cotton base cloth used in the Ruby Star Society fabric collections is slightly lighter weight than most quilting cottons on the market, making it more versatile for both quilters and garment sewers alike. It has a smooth silky finish and soft hand. All Ruby Star Society fabrics are screen printed in Japan. There are both creamy white and unbleached base fabrics throughout the collections. For certain prints the designers prefer the depth, warmth and richness that the unbleached fabric lends to the design. The small flecks in the unbleached prints are a part of the natural characteristics of unbleached cotton.
