Clover's history dates all the way back to 1925, when it was founded by 26 year old Toshio Okada. The name originated when a young Mr. Okada was attending college and would study in the park and use clovers to bookmark his pages. When he founded the company, Mr. Okada remembered the hard work it took to succeed in his studies and all the clovers stuck between the pages of his books. In 1948, Clover officially became a brand. Clover began as a wholesale company of needles and handicraft accessories. Soon after, Clover became a manufacturing company, with machines designed to capture the vision of engineers to create the wonderful tools that we know and love today. In 1983, Clover USA was established in Los Angeles. Clover USA was given the name Clover Needlecraft, Inc. and sold Takumi Knitting Needles. Later, the US line grew into patchwork quilting tools and sewing notions. With the support of their parent company, Clover USA has a become a substantial brand in the artisan world of North America.
Clover Needlecraft, Inc. makes products for knitting and crochet, sewing and quilting, and crafts and beading. Stash Fabrics stocks many of Clover's sewing and quilting items like leather thimbles, bias tape makers, and Wonder Clips.
